Linton Studio Moves to Midland
As of Thursday 28 May 2009, Bethamy Linton will be moving Linton Studio lock stock and barrel to the Midland Atelier, situated in the historic Midland Railway Workshops.
Unable to resist the opportunity to take up residence among West Australia's most exciting young designers and craftspeople, Beth is loading up the van with her hammers and vices (with a capital 'V') and bidding fare well to Bon Marche Arcade. FORM; WA's Pied Piper to the crafts has created a hub of design excellence in the railway workshops, where designers and makers across metal, wood and glass will be working together to inspire, motivate and influence each-other in the creation of beautiful things.
Seduced by the incredible early 20th century industrial architecture and the ghosts of craftsmen past, Beth says the following of Linton Studio's new home;Seduced by the incredible early 20th century industrial architecture and the ghosts of craftsmen past, Beth says the following of Linton Studio's new home;.
"The moment FORM led me, giggling and blind folded into the space that was destined to house my work-benches, Myford lathe and Tough drill press I knew I had come home. I can't wait to open this space to my clients, to share this incredible piece of West Australian history with them and to create new work inspired by my surroundings."
Beth will be running specialised, intimate jewellery workshops on-site for a maximum of three enthused amateur jewellers from July 2009, so email Beth at beth@lintonsilver.com to register your interest or for more information.
